Online Essay Writing Competition “Challenges of Battling Covid- 19 in India”

Introduction:

On 17/10/2020, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a online session on “Online Essay Writing Competition “Challenges of Battling Covid-19 in India". About 59 students were participated in this competition. The session aimed to get lot of ideas on creating awareness in the society is brought well in the essay writing competition.

Objectives:
It aims to achieve several objectives such as
  • To Highlight the ongoing challenges of Covid-19 in India
  • To Practice clear and concise communication
  • To Promote creative expression
  • To Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Event Summary:

On 17/10/2020, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a online session on “Online Essay Writing Competition “Challenges of Battling Covid-19 in India". About 59 students were participated in this competition. The session aimed to get lot of ideas on creating awareness in the society is brought well in the essay writing competition.

Resource person Mrs.Krishi kumari A P have given the clear instructions about the competition. The challenges of battling Covid-19 in India competition provides a platform for students to express their thoughts, experiences and the real occurred challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The competition aimed to encourage critical thinking and creative expression while addressing pressing issues related to the pandemic. Students presented various dimension of the challenges faced in fight against the Covid-19 in India, including health care infrastructure, economic impact, social concerns and public health facility. The wide range of perspectives, opinions and solutions proposed by students was really interesting and it became more of challenging in judging the best.

Overall this completion served as platform for remembering the pandemic and challenges we all faced in fight against the Covid-19 in India. Students also addressed in their writing about the awareness about key issues, spreading the awareness about the health as well.

Resource person Mrs.Krishi kumari A P gave her feedback after reading the essay written by our students also. Students showcased their creativity and their writing essays that offered insightful analysis and innovative solutions to address the challenge posed by the pandemic.

On 19/11/2020, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a session on “Session on Vocabulary enhancement- Synonyms/Antonyms/One word substitution". About 66 students were participated in this competition. The online session conduct aimed at expanding students to participate to students to improve their vocabulary and word usage skills.

  • Event Summary:

    On 19/11/2020, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a session on “Session on Vocabulary Enhancement: Synonyms/Antonyms/One Word Substitution." About 66 students participated in this competition. The online session was aimed at expanding students participation and helping them improve their vocabulary and word usage skills.

    Resource person Mr. Santosh Sakre delivered the importance of and how to identify the use of words with similar meanings to enrich their vocabulary and express themselves more effectively. The session explored antonyms, helping students to understand the concept of words with opposite meanings and how to use them appropriately in various contexts. Practical strategies and examples were provided to teach students the art of one-word substitution, enabling them to express complex ideas easily.

    The session became interactive as exercises and quizzes were conducted for students as part of their learning experiences, allowing them to practice identifying synonyms, antonyms, and one word substitutions in context. Students learned how to apply similar words in everyday communication and to understand those words meaningfully while reading.

    Our students had significantly expanded their vocabulary and gained much confidence in their ability to choose the right words to convey their message and ideas effectively. Also, students are encouraged to continue practicing at least one word of antonyms, synonyms, and one word substitution daily so that it helps their vocabulary skills.

    Online Session on Sentence correction, Sentence rearrangement & Sentence completion

The online session conduct aimed at enhancing students their proficiency in sentence correction and manipulation also to strengthen student’s grammar skills and improve their ability to construct clear, coherent, and grammatically correct sentences.

  • To Improve sentence clarity and conciseness.
  • To Evaluate the effectiveness of different sentence arrangements.
  • To Analyze sentence logic and flow
  • To Apply knowledge of grammar and sentence structure to correct errors.

    On 19/12/2020, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a session on “Online Session on Sentence Correction, Sentence Rearrangement, and Sentence Completion." About 69 students participated in this competition. The online session aimed at enhancing students their proficiency in sentence correction and manipulation, as well as strengthening students' grammar skills and improving their ability to construct clear, coherent, and grammatically correct sentences.

    The resource person, Mr. Prakash M Walavalkar, gave very practical techniques to students in sentence rearrangements, sentence completion. This will help students to effectively improve with appropriate words or phrases explored, enhancing their learning of the arrangements and completion of sentences in logical flow as well as their understanding of the context of sentence structure.

    The session became interactive as exercises and quizzes were conducted for students as part of their learning experiences, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills in sentence correction, rearrangement, and correction. The real-word examples and case studies were discussed to illustrate the relevance and applications of sentence correction, rearrangement, and completion skills in various written and spoken communication contexts.

    Through this online session, students gained a deeper understanding of sentence construction principles and gained practical skills to enhance their sentence correction, rearrangement, and completion abilities. Students were encouraged to keep practicing, as it only helps to improve communication effectively in writing and spoken communication.

    On 31/05/2021, Jain Institute of Technology Davangere hosted a session on “Online Session on Sentence Structuring Using Subject Verb Agreement." About 58 students participated in this competition. The online session was aimed at enhancing students crucial aspects of subject-verb agreement. The session is focused on improving their grammar skills and their ability to construct grammatically accurate and meaningful sentences.

    Resource person Mrs. Sheethal R delivered an in-depth explanation of subject-verb agreement rules and principles, covering topics such as singular/plural subjects, verb conjunction, and agreement in tense and voice. Real-life examples and case studies were presented to illustrate subject-verb agreement concepts in context, helping students understand how to apply the rules effectively in their writing and communication.

    The session was interactive with the students by engaging them through a series of activities and allowing them to practice identifying and correcting subject-verb agreement errors in sentences. The question and answer at the end of the session were conducted, which was helpful in getting clarification on subject-verb agreement.

    Students gained knowledge on how to grammatically correct sentences in different written and spoken contexts. Additional resources, such as grammar guides and online exercises, were recommended to support ongoing learning and skill development. Overall, the session served as a foundation for improved grammar proficiency and empowered participants to communicate with clarity and confidence in their written and spoken expression.
