The Library and Information centre is located centrally in the new building and having two floors i.e., the ground floor and the first floor measuring an area of 207.708 m2 ground floor and 207.708 m2 first floor, the total area measures 415.416 m2. Seating capacity of the library is for 200 users at a time. There are two staff members including Librarian working in the library. The cater to the needs of the staff/students to have easy and speedy access to library collection the library have been automated using a KOHA a open source software package. The library has developed an excellent collection of books, journals in engineering technology and management. The library has over 13898 volumes which are updated regularly by way of adding new literature in the form of text books, reference books, reports, journals (national & international) , magazines. Library is an essential part of every institution which helps the staff and students to enhance the knowledge through various resources such as books, newspapers, journals, magazines. Our institution library provides borrowing, reference services, digital library with high speed internet including reprographic services. JIT Library had got membership under VTU e consortium through which the staff students and research scholars can have e journals access. The JIT Library had also got registered under National Digital Library through which the staff students can access e journals ,articles e-books,videos.
Library is the heart of the institute and heart supplies blood to all parts of the body. Library provides to knowledge to all faculty and students.Library is place of pride at JIT campus and essential component of learning,research and education mission.the library is fully computerised with KOHA software, an open source.
Library has facilities like CD,DVD's online database and photocopies for students. the library as an excellent collection of reference/ text books,periodicals related to the field of engineering and MBA.
